Staub Metals Job Description Job Title: Helper Department: Operations Reports To: Plant Supervisor Staub Metals Corporation is a steel processor & distributor located in Paramount, CA. The company purchases, processes then resells flat rolled products including carbon, stainless and pre-painted steels. The majority of our customers are located in California; however; we do service other Western States as well as Alaska and Hawaii. Staub Metals in seeking a "HELPER" to assist a machine operator, paper wrap products, move product, and maintain a clean work area. SUMMARY Assists Machine Operator by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all company policies and procedures as described in the following key documents: The Company Handbook, The Quality Manual and the IIPP (Injury Illness Prevention Program) as well as any other reasonable direction given by a Supervisor/Manager. All three of the key documents each employee has received contain policies and procedures which are created for the safety and welfare of all employees and the betterment of the Company. Include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management. Inspects material for any imperfections, verifies dimensions and material types. Helps lift skids and places in stacker. Removes coil and scrap (heads & tails) from machines and stacks on scrap pile. Insures a consistent flow of master coils for continuous processing. Sorts, marks or tags finished work order. Transports material or signals crane operator to move material. Informs operator of defects on materials. May compare work piece with straightedge or template to verify conformance to specifications. Furnishes Operator with materials, tools and equipment. May construct pallets for non-typical pallet size. Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Inspects material for imperfections. Performs other routine duties. Must follow all Plant Safety rules and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to read tape measure, add, subtract, multiply and divide. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
