Shane Weight Loss Camps since 1968 has been family owned, and runs residential weight loss & fitness sleep away camps. We are seeking an Assistant Director for next summer. Prior camp experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for a person who is warm, friendly, outgoing, energetic, physically active, well spoken, and computer literate, with charm and maturity to communicate effectively with staff and children. The assistant director works directly under and with the camp director. The primary function of this position is to handle administrative needs, such as running reports from the computer to produce bunk lists, alphabetical lists, horseback riding lists, printing and keeping organized forms such as medical history, personal, and other enrollment forms. You would also organize transportation to and from camp particularly of those who fly to our location. You will be taught and then take charge of the actual daily program of the camp. This means, organizing the camp into various groups and assigning specific activities for each of them, for the seven periods we offer each day - choosing from the myriad of activities we offer. Will also need to assign instructors and assistants to every activity and, manage their time off and days off, purchase needed supplies and then observe that everything is running smoothly. You would also be in charge of implementing evening activities and also special events on weekends. You have to be a very organized person with a strong attention to detail. Its expected that you would probably spend a good deal of time in our office the first couple of weeks and then after that less than half a day. When not in the office, you will be participating in activities along with the kids and other counselors. This job is technically a seasonal position, but there are responsibilities during the winter months that include your training.. Applicants must be available to live and work at the camp location for 7 weeks from mid June into early August. The position pays a modest salary and includes free housing and meals. If this position sounds perfect for you, please submit your resume to david@campshane.com and/or you can complete an online application at our website www.campshane.com. If this position is not suited for you, we have many other positions available such as positions for CBT, Guidance Counselor, Zumba, All Sports, Weight Training, Group Fitness, Circuit Training, Life Guards and Crafts.
